Christian met the owners in 2001, when they commissioned him to redesign their London town house. A few years later, they collaborated again in refurbishing their pied-à-terre in Paris and apartment in New York City. Sharing their love for French culture and the south of France, the owners appreciated Christian’s natural, clean and chic style. They knew that he would transform the property in St Barth into a serene retreat for all who visit.

François Pécard, the leading architect on the island, was Christian’s choice for the project. François had built Christian’s modest beach house in Marigot, and both worked together on the Sereno Hotel. The owners chose Sol y Mar as name for the villa but is known as the “Liaigre” House on the island.
